Dubai, April 2, 2024 – With Eid Al Fitr approaching, the Yango Maps application conducted a survey to explore changes in the movement habits of residents in Dubai during the holy month of Ramadan, with the aim of keeping up with user requirements and suggesting practical tips and features that will improve their transportation experience during this period of… General.

The study revealed that 52% of Dubai residents travel more during the holy month of Ramadan compared to the rest of the year, as the holy month represents an opportunity to spend more time with loved ones and communicate with them. As for the preferred means of transportation among residents within the city, the majority chose to travel by their own cars, while one in 3 users indicated that they preferred buses and taxis.

The study revealed the most important aspects that are taken into consideration for moving quickly and smoothly in the city during this season, which included safety, travel time, and the presence of spaces equipped with air conditioning along the road. The application recently launched the “Comfortable Routes” feature, which bears the “snowflake” symbol, in response to user requests, so that additional routes are suggested so that the user can pass through shaded areas and air-conditioned bus stops when temperatures rise.

During the holy month of Ramadan, more than 70% of the city’s residents spend more time with family and are more likely to try new places, with nearly half of the population (48%) dining out more frequently than during the rest of the year. Therefore, Yango Maps took the initiative to provide a special guide for the holy month of Ramadan, which includes a wide range of restaurants and cafes that provide a distinct iftar experience that will remain in the memory, including restaurants that serve the most delicious traditional dishes from the Middle East, all the way to innovative international dishes.

According to the study, shopping remains one of the main activities for Dubai residents, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, as 61% indicated that they shop more during this month. It was noteworthy that the majority of shoppers do this in stores, rather than online, as 3 out of every 5 shoppers search for new brands and better deals, and the Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Marina Mall were among the most popular shopping centers. It is noteworthy that the Yango Maps application provides a very comfortable and easy experience by enabling users to plan their routes to reach parking lots in major locations such as shopping centers directly and without any hassle.
